The CBT50LA-LS is a passive column speaker from JBL.
Column speaker 8 X 50 mm, black, EN54-24.
The CBT series completely revolutionizes the concept of passive column loudspeakers by integrating many innovations specific to JBL know-how. With traditional passive column loudspeakers, the sound coverage is gradually reduced in the high frequencies after the distance, generating a non-homogeneous listening area over the entire sound spectrum.
Each listener perceives a different sound balance.
Constant Beamwidth Technology solves these problems by controlling the dispersion characteristics of the speaker over a wide bandwidth.
CBT models provide consistent coverage of a listening area as would a complex and expensive system using line array technology.
This allows the CBT speakers to optimize the frequency response of the listening area, regardless of the distance and the position in or off axis. Thus, each listener hears similarly the sound program, regardless of its position.
A switchable speech / music filtering circuit makes it possible to choose a flat response from the speaker for the musical diffusion, and a response with a mid-frequency boost offering greater intelligibility for the speech broadcast.
