The Volca FM2 is part of Korg's 9-model Volca series of analog, digital, and sample sequencer :

Each of the modules features a Midi sync to interface with your favorite DAW and an in/out sync to chain multiple Volca or Monotribe. The Volca's can be taken anywhere thanks to their battery operation and mini speaker. You can also use the SyncKontrol app (iPhone) to control multiple features.

The Midi in connector allows you to sync with other devices or play the Volca from any Midi keyboard. You can also send note messages from your DAW and use the Volca as an analog sound module.
