Built by German Warwick workshop, the SADOWSKY MetroLine 24-Fret Single Cut Bass, Swamp Ash Body 5-String (SML24SV5 90 ASH FR) is a wonderful instrument.
It features single cutaway american Swamp Ash body, bolt on Maple neck, Maple fretboard with 24 frets. The extended contact between the neck and the body offers a huge level of evenness and tone across the fretboard.
SADOWSKI Mid-Boost Preamp 4-Knob active system allows to control volume, pan, bass boost, treble boost, and VTC.
VTC (Vintage Tone Control) is a passive control in which 10 is flat and as you roll it down it knocks off a broad swath of high end to give you a warmer tone.
Although the control is passive, it functions with the bass in either active or passive mode.
A little rolled off knocks off a lot of string noise. All the way rolled off, it gives you a lot of that "motown/flatwound" sound".
