The MARTIN Road Series D-13E Retro brings upgraded tone and timeless style to the Road Series. It features a solid spruce top and solid black walnut back and sides in a gloss finish for rich sustain, strong bass, and clear, balanced tone. Walnut — known locally as “Pennsylvania rosewood” — adds warmth and tonal complexity that rival more traditional tonewoods.
The Dreadnought body and scalloped X-bracing deliver bold projection and dynamic response, while the Performing Artist neck with high
performance taper ensures smooth playability. Style 28-inspired visual appointments nod to iconic Martin design, and with versatile E1
electronics, a built-in tuner, and a softshell case, this guitar is built for players who know where they’re headed — and need the right tool to
take them there.
Between Rosewood, Mahogany and Maple, Walnut offers a great frequency balance with thick and clear bass, intense mids and generous highs.
